Trophy TY-50 Cutting Scissors

The Trophy TY-50 is a 5.0” offset-handle cutting scissor with a convex blade. At 5.0” the blade is compact, suiting stylists who prefer a shorter cutting arc for detailed work, fringe cutting, and precision finishing. The offset handle drops the thumb below the finger ring, reducing wrist elevation through repeated cutting strokes.

Trophy does not publish a steel grade for the TY-50. The model is available through Takano Canada, which carries the Trophy scissors range.

Professional Opinion

A compact 5.0 inch scissor for stylists who like a shorter cutting arc, especially around fringes and detailed finishing. The convex blade supports precision work, the offset handle keeps wrist elevation down, and the small frame sits well in smaller hands.

Maintenance Tips

  • Wipe blades after each client
  • Oil the pivot point regularly
  • Professional sharpening when edge dulls
  • Store in protective case
